I’m gonna go ahead and put my money on Gates officially finding out about them in “Hunt”.
I still don’t believe that Gates doesn’t know. I mean, she has made and still makes a living noticing things and sorting things out based on evidence. She’s too smart not to know. Plus come on, Caskett ain’t as secretive as they’d like to think they are. It’s hard to hide a love like theirs.
Yup. And let’s be honest. A hug is one thing. But the intimate way they’re holding hands? Friends don’t do that. That’s more of a “we’ve seen each other naked” kind of hand holding. And I believe that’s why she looked away like she did.
Kate/Rick are really professional in the work place. They don’t do “PDA.” Their relationship before the two parter did not affect how they work together. They have kept it on the down low at work that is probably why Gates doesn’t care.
It’s Penny JJ’s opinion that Gates does know. Personally, I think she’d always suspected, even before they were actually together, and took her time in judging for herself whether she wanted to enforce the rules (and break up an amazing team) or simply protecting all of them by allowing everyone to assume her ignorance.
